Make Your Own Pizza Bar

Pizza night! Who doesn’t love pizza night? Pizza night is basically mom’s night off from cooking, and I love that! Don’t get me wrong, I love to cook, but having a day where I don’t have to do it is always nice. Everyone needs a break! So we have pizza night! Lately our pizza night consists of the same pizza, from the same place, with all the same toppings. Ugh. BORING!!! I’m the kind of girl who likes different things and try different things. I get so bored with the same repeated food over and over again I could just scream! My kids and hubster though, they don’t care. They’re happy to stick with what they know. I probably drive them nuts because I’m always cooking something new.

So lets have the best of both worlds! I’ll create something new for myself, and everyone else can create whatever they want on their own little personal pizzas. Great thing about this,  no one complains. Oh, and you can make it as healthy or not so healthy as you want because it’s yours! There are no limits. I used Boboli pizza crust for this. It’s already made and ready to be topped with your favorite toppings.

Some idea’s for toppings:

  • Alfredo Sauce
  • Pizza Sauce
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Salsa
  • Taco meat (chicken, turkey, ground beef) for taco pizzas
  • Crushed tortilla chips (again, for taco pizzas)
  • Shredded Lettuce (taco pizza)
  • Diced Tomatoes (taco pizza)
  • Jalapenos
  • Bell peppers of various colors
  • Red Onion
  • Italian Sausage
  • Cooked chicken (cubed)
  • Sliced Hot Dogs (don’t knock it until you try it!)
  • Pepperoni
  • Mushrooms
  • Bacon
  • Steak Strips (cooked)
  • Shredded cheeses like Mozzarella, Cheddar, Italian Blend, Mexican Blend, etc.
  • Sliced Black Olives

As you can see, the list is endless! These are just a few ideas to get you going. You can provide all or just some depending on your group size and what you all like.

Now sit back, and let everyone build their own. The photos are of the ones my kids built.  They really piled on all of their favorites. Hubster wasn’t so sure they would hold together after baked, but I assured him they would be just fine.

Now Andrea, my little 11 year old foodie, has a very colorful and bright pizza. She loves her bell peppers and onions, along with all of that delicious meat. She’s much like me in this way.

John, on the other hand, is more like The Hubster. Meat all the way! With the exception of a few black olives.  They both love having sliced hot dogs on their pizzas. I’m telling you, if you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out.

In the end, you have a very  happy family around the table, and a well rested mom!
